Well, well, well, The Screen Actors Guild Awards – the last stop before The Oscars. And who knew that this dark horse would be a front-runner in the fashion stakes this awards season. Here are some of my fashion faves:
Emma Stone: A tuxedo dress by Dior Couture on the RC! She really blew it out of the park with this more edgy choice. Yet, she still worked it with her slick, low pony and the punchy red statement pout and red nails. So, so chic!
Sarah Hyland looked sophisticated yet still youthful -like a beautiful young lady (instead of a tramp like many of her counterparts), in a custom Vera Wang teamed with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Gorgous.
Stop Being So Hot
Why these guys wear clothes at all…Even though their incredible bodies were partially hidden from their naked glory, they looked hot. Quelle surprise. And while I didn’t love Sofia Vergara’s Donna Karan Atelier one shouldered number, still, she was a bombshell and wore that red gown like a boss (Read my Golden Globes post to see who is not worthy of the colour red: http://glammeup.com.au/the-golden-globes-2015/). The hunky fiancé Joe Manganiello, looked nearly as good as he did in Magic Mike, despite the fact he was wearing a shirt, in a custom made Ermenegildo Zegna tuxedo. Ridiculous.
And then there is Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves – waaay too hot and cool for their own good. Of course, I had a moment drooling over Camila’s rich purple, strapless Donna Karan, that hugged her shapely curves, and showcased the flawless golden skin. But I was also very taken with young bearded Matthew in a metallic blue tuxedo jacket. A cool departure from the classic tux. Smoking!
I love a good print on the RC! And Rashida Jones rocked it in a black and white printed Emanuel Ungarao gown blue with detail. Very French Riviera. Could double up as a Cannes Film Festival number. Just saying…
Lupita Nyong’o was incredible in a plunging neckline, stripe over floral printed master-piece by Ellie Saab. And teamed with her plaited up-do & stunning make-up – to die for!
After my last Golden Globes post where I aired the unthinkable: When Bed Quilting is Made into Red Carpet Attire ( http://glammeup.com.au/the-golden-globes-2015/) I was happy to eat my words, somewhat, when I saw the luscious looking Maria Menounos. She looked fresh and elegant in a gold coloured bed-quilt fabric dress by Romona Kevesa. The trick? Simple, freshly blow-dried hair, a beautiful bare décolletage and acccesorised with drop earrings. No frou-fra (Salma Hayek take note), just bed-quilting against golden skin. (Seriously, she could wear a garbage bag.)
Well Glams, I think the next stop on the RC could be the Grammys and then…The Oscars! (What will I wear?) Until then…Mwaaah.xx
