Not a Grey Area…

Dear Aunt Glam,
I bought my brush-set probably in 1999, and they have stood the test of time. But now whatever colour eyeshadow I use it comes out a murky grey. Plus they smell like feces. Help!

Confused,
Carlingford

Dear Confused,
I almost choked on my Brandy Alexander when I read your email. Firstly, has it occurred to you that perhaps you need to WASH your brushes? Secondly, has it occurred to you that perhaps you need to WASH your brushes? I’ve noticed that you live in Carlingford, and although it’s hardly Biarritz, I do believe that you still have access to running water, shampoo, soap and other such useful modern-day cleaning solutions. I suggest you wash those bacteria filled, germ-magnets, that remarkably you have used on your face for the last decade, with shampoo, Sards Wonder soap and then some anti-bacterial hand-wash – just to be sure. If by chance, they don’t disintegrate in your hands, squeeze out all excess water from the bristles and allow them to dry in an open area. Are you sure this is the only thing you own that smells like “feces”?
Best,

Aunt Glam
