I will certainly miss watching I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here tonight. Chris and the fabulous Julia Morris – well they became like family really. As did the forever quirky Maureen McCormick who I just fell in love with, the loveable Freddie Flintoff, strongman Barry Hall, voice of reason Chrissie Swan and the comical Joel Creasy – all of them now a good 15 kilos lighter in the process.
And yes it’s been quite the JOURNEY. There’s been tears, tucker trials, tantrums, triumphs, terror but the tiara eventually went to the lovely Freddie (he was my love interest of the show – you’ve got to have one).
Interestingly, most of them made the same comment at one time or another. That although it was very difficult to be living in discomfort – no sprung mattress, no walls, coffee machines, comfort food and no contact with the outside world – they each learnt that these things do not make you happy. You can actually be happy with the most scant of material possessions. And they actually relearnt the art of talking to someone eye to eye for extended periods of time without the sneaky glance at Instagram or the Inbox – amazing! So, lessons were learnt. Friendships were formed. Animal intestines and rude bits were eaten.
Then there was the queen of the jungle herself – our very own Julia Morris. My girl-crush has now heightened to stalker levels due to her proving to be even more hilarious, and now, quite the glamour-puss. She seemed each week to morph further into a leggy, busty bombshell that wore a variety of jungle themed frocks with pure panache. And if you’re anything like me, and really do go weak at the knees for a good animal print, check out this post from the fabulous Nikki Parkinson from Styling You: http://www.stylingyou.com.au/
