DMK Foundation

Posted on by

I have recently been doing make-up for the short film “101 Cupcakes”.
While being denied of snacking from the plethora of freshly baked, colourfully iced props, I still had a good time. And, I also became reacquainted with one of my favourite foundations: DMK Cosmetics Foundation. In fact, I would have been totally at a loss without it  and was so impressed by the versatility of this fab foundie that I just had to share. So, yes, I’ve fallen in love all over again.

What makes DMK Foundation so useable for make-up artists, is the fact that you can
reapply, and it doesn’t go all ‘crusty the clown’. I used DMK with very little powder as it has a natural semi-matte finish and found throughout the 12 hour shooting days where the main actress was crying, baking, laughing, sweating and then crying again, I simply reapplied with my dampened Beauty Pod, and it would all come together. Also, I used it on a variety of age groups and skin textures – it worked!

But you don’t have to be a professional to benefit from the wonders of DMK. As it is a cream foundation (this doesn’t mean it’s thick in texture) it does make for the perfect touch-up tool. If I’m out and about, I reapply it though the day, over my pigmentation for extra sun protection (physical block). It’s dense in pigment, which means it has high coverage, yet so light-weight you will feel like your wearing nothing at all. And because it’s botanical based and oil-free, I have never suffered any nasty congestion or skin reaction. (May have also slept in it a couple of times – don’t tell anyone, yet no ill effect.)

The colour range is also good. I wear Bamboo from the Shinto colour-range (yellow-based range). For fair to medium tones that are not so yellow-based, I use colours from the Olive series. Suede from the International palette is also a good colour for medium to olive complexions. And Broadway is a suitable shade for tanned or darker olive skin.
It’s available through DMK skin clinics worldwide (their skincare is also heaven and don’t get me started on the facials).
