5 Makeup Tips as We Age (Sigh)

Well, it’s happening isn’t it? Right before our now slightly vision impaired eyes – we are getting older. And daily we’re faced (pardon the pun) with a visage that is different to the one we had a decade ago. What we once could get away with – no foundation, a smidgen of lip-gloss, mascara and a devil- may-care attitude is now far from cute. We need more. A lot more. But certainly not too much. Au contraire. We want the right amount of makeup to feel and look like our cute selves again.

Farewell My Prince

I’m fairly sure Prince would be far from impressed with my present dishevelled state of grief – smudged purple eyeliner around the peepholes, my torn Piano and Microphone T-shirt falling off one shoulder teamed with Eiffel tower print pyjama pants, and sipping the last of a bottle of Mumm Rouge Champagne while listening to his illustrious music played marathon style on Double J and surrounded with tear-stained tissues and newspapers – hungry, only to discover more. The 2016 Golden Globes Red Carpet

Well, Glams, what a fine start to Award’s season, with my favourite event – The Golden Globe Awards, made even more spectacular by my fave host: Ricky Gervais who did not disappoint. He was as always, risqué and hilarious. Continue reading

Strapless at the Races?

Picture-Device-Independent-Bitmap-1-240x3002Dear Aunt Glam,

I am going to the races today and would like to know if it is ok to wear strapless? I have a strapless peplum dress, and I was hoping this was race fitting?

Ocsober Victory

20150926_213310Crack open the sparkling water, I have made it through October sans alcohol like a BLOODY LEGEND! And, okay naysayers, the month is not entirely up, but it’s safe to say: I got this. High-five me! A whole month without a cheeky tipple? Who knew? Many of those other ‘dry’ months have passed me by, with just fleeting intentions to get on board, and to be THAT person, but there was always something on that would get in the way of sobriety – an upcoming party, Thursday… Continue reading

The Bachelorette – Hello final Week

Sasha is going to take this home. It’s a total no brainer. He is the best out of an underwhelming bunch (sorry boys), and Missy has total heart palpitations every time she glances at him. Continue reading

Keeping It Together

IMG_5399-300x300While perched on a roof-top bar, imbibing beverages with my lovely friend on a steamy Friday evening, I glanced at my dear companion and couldn’t help but to notice that she indeed had become quite the hot mess. Foundation was now just a grimy coating of sweat and muck, eye makeup – bleary; hardly a remnant of the blush I had meticulously applied on her some hours earlier – all-in-all: untidy. It wasn’t until I sauntered to the bathroom, that I realised, people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Continue reading

The Emmys 2015 Red Carpet Roundup

Let’s just say it out loud: The 67th Emmy Awards was all about The Strapless Dress. And why not? In scorching temps of 41-degrees (holy Moly hair and make-up) who would want to be caught out in a neck to floor Georgio Armani Prive sequined extravaganza? Yes, Jaimie Alexander, I’m talking to you. Swelter much? Continue reading

It is one of my favourite experiences in life. So, it was with a kick in my step, that I headed to Element Hair in Woollahra for an afternoon of hair pampering. Hello, heaven. Continue reading
